Meet the Of One Accord Family!

Group Bio | Ben Posey | John Graves | David McMahon | Darrin Bruner

Of One Accord blends the sweet-sounding harmonies of good old-fashioned southern gospel music with a contemporary feeling to make each concert a musical experience. From old standards like Step Into The Water and Hide Thou Me to a host of new music, Of One Accord has a message in song for everyone.

The group makes its home in Frisco, Texas, just north of Dallas. Baritone-vocalist David McMahon and bass-vocalist Darrin Bruner co-founded the group in 2004 to reach the lost and encourage believers through the ministry of southern gospel music and their personal testimonies. Within a month, they added lead-vocalist John Graves. The newest addition to the quartet is tenor-vocalist Ben Posey.

In that short time, the group has performed for local churches, at gospel festivals and home-goings, onstage at SGM Fan Fair, and in many National Quartet Convention showcases. Each member shares a deep love of southern gospel music. The timeless message found in these rich harmonies impacts each of their lives every day, and they want to share that message with others.

With a rich diversity in backgrounds and sounds reminiscent of The Cathedrals and the Statesmen quartets, the combination of all four voices blended together in tight harmonies has audiences sitting on the edge of their seats. This quartet truly has a sound unique in today's Southern Gospel music industry.

Tenor vocalist Ben Posey brings a traditional feel to many of southern gospel’s favorite songs with his smooth, rich voice.

Ben began singing at the age of six with his family. Ben was born and raised the son of a Baptist minister. He has sung in churches all his life and truly loves to sing for the Lord.

Ben especially loves the four part harmony of Southern Gospel quartets such as the Gaither Vocal Band, Cathedrals, and Ernie Haase and Signature Sound.

Although a Dallas native, Ben currently resides in McKinney, Texas, with his lovely wife and their three daughters.

Lead vocalist John Graves, a founding member of the Of One Accord quartet, has a rich heritage of over twenty-five years in southern gospel music. From 1974 until 1984, John sang Lead and Baritone vocals for his family quartet, the Graves Gospel Singers, as they traveled throughout the southern US. At the age of nine, John gave his life to the Lord, and at seventeen, John was called as a Music Minister to Friendship Baptist Church in Riderville, Texas, where he stayed through college.

While in college, John sang with many professional organizations, including the Shreveport Chamber Singers of Shreveport, Louisiana, and the Christ Episcopal Church Choir of Tyler, Texas.

All through college, John continued a solo career singing a blend of contemporary Christian and southern gospel sounds. In 1994, John formed the Southern Harmony quartet of Tyler, Texas, where he continued to minister until March of 1996.

Of One Accord has been John’s ministry home since October, 2004, where he sings, writes and arranges music for the group. John has a sincere desire to uplift and encourage the saved and lead the lost to Christ through the use of southern gospel music and testimony.

Baritone vocalist David McMahon co-founded Of One Accord with the intent to reach souls for Christ through the ministry of southern gospel music.

The desire to sing in a quartet was instilled in David by hearing and seeing the likes of Karen Peck, The Florida Boys, The Speer Family and others. A lasting impression of the hearts for Christ shown by Tim and Tony Greene planted a seed in him that has grown through the last fourteen years.

David spent thirteen years in the Army, singing in musicals, choirs and as a soloist. Upon his discharge, he met his lovely wife, Jolie, and was granted the experience of raising two lovely daughters, Jaymie and Johanna.

Shortly after arriving in the North Dallas area, he became a member of First Baptist Church of Frisco, where he met Darrin Bruner. Darrin invited him to be the lead singer with Sanctuary 101, a quartet founded in the church.

In the Fall of 2004, God kept tugging at him to do more service through singing, and Of One Accord was formed through God's will and strength.

Bass vocalist Darrin Bruner co-founded Of One Accord to allow God to reach the lost and encourage believers through the quartet's music ministry.

Darrin has enjoyed singing gospel music since the young age of 3 when he sang "Daddy Sang Bass" with his brother and sister in church.

Darrin was raised in a Christian home with Godly parents in north central Oklahoma. At the age of 6, he started his walk with Christ, and his relationship continues to grow day by day. In 1985, he moved to Irving, Texas to attend college. He married his wife, Cynthia, in 1990, and they have since been blessed with two beautiful daughters, Emily and Ashley.

The Lord has used Darrin in various music ministries over the years, including solo, ensemble, choir and quartet ministries. Darrin especially loves the four part harmony of southern gospel quartets like The Florida Boys and Gold City. He sang bass with the Sanctuary 101 quartet in Frisco, Texas, for several years. In 2004, God called him to start a new quartet ministry, so he teamed up with David McMahon and John Graves to found Of One Accord.
